Week One

This week we had an introduction to the paper and basically just went through the content of the paper. We did an exercise to determine our principles and where it lies in the table inserted below.
There are ten groups to this, as you can see and underneath those groups are values that we may prioritise. We also had a think about our values in regards to what we want to do for our topic.

As a designer, where do I want to go?

- I want to go somewhere I can contribute to society and how it may be able to affect the future generations to come. As to what in particular, I am no quite sure yet but I was thinking somewhere along the line of sustainability or being eco-friendly for my project.

What do you want to change?

- I want to change people's thoughts on replacing and detaching easily from material possessions. I admit that we as people should be minimalists, and keep as little things as possible sticking with just the essentials, it is hard because of the fast and growing commercial industry.

What kind of change?

- I want people to value what they have more, and value what they are yet to own. I want them to think of the before, during and after life of a product they buy and eventually, as consumers be responsible for their actions and decisions.
